Upper Mustang trek offers the awe-inspiring experience in the isolated Himalayan region of Nepal. The region was forbidden land until 1992, no travellers or foreigners were allowed.

The 17-day trekking designed by the Mount Fishtail Adventure offers the splendid views of Mount Nilgiri, Mount Annapurna, and Mount Dhaulagiri. The package also includes visit to UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu and Pokhara, the lake city of Nepal.

Upper Mustang trek finds adventure in the landscape with a trans-Himalayan climate which is cool and semi-arid with precipitation. The Upper Mustang ranges to 6,700 metres at Khumjung Himal in the southeast.

In Upper Mustang trekking, the trail comes across numerous natural hidden caves. Artistic Buddhist monasteries along with mani walls are other infrastructures we come in contact with.

Alongside the trekking, travellers get the opportunity to explore the blending of Tibetan and Nepali cultures. Ancient descendents of Tibetans such as Sherpas, Bhotes, including Thakalis from Thak who speak Tibetan languages, are the native of Upper Mustang.

The villages in Lo-Mangthang are remarkably famous for its tall white washed mud brick walls and the king's palace. There are three main gompas - Jampa Gompa, the oldest, built in the early 15th century; Thupchen built in the late 15th century and Chodey Gompa, the main city gompa.

Recently, a dozen of caves decorated with ancient Buddhist paintings was discovered.
